    Just stopped in for a light lunch. Service was excellent, very prompt and the server offered helpful suggestions. I had a lovely beet salad with a generous amount of locally sourced gold and ruby beets. The artisan grilled cheese was a delicious blend of aged cheddar, havarti and brie on a grilled brioche. It was gooey and tasty, the cheeses blended well and were not too bland. The sandwich was served with red bliss potatoes (also locally sourced) and a vegetable slaw. The vegetable slaw deserves a better name. It was tangy with a little kick and golden raisins added a sweet note. Very nice experience, I'm glad I stopped in today.

    I visited Besos for lunch recently with a friend. The decor is really nice and the space is quite cozy. Our waitress was very pleasant, and there were several appetizing options on the menu, creating quite the challenge on decision-making. The restaurant was practically empty while we dined, and both my dining companion and I ordered sandwiches, yet our food took a really long time to arrive. I was actually getting quite worried because we were on our lunch break and I didn't expect two sandwiches to take that long to make (especially with only one other small table of customers). My friend really enjoyed her grilled cheese. She loved the combination of cheeses on brioche and thought it was a really decadent choice. I went with the BLT. I was concerned that the BLT cost as much as the burgers, but I was craving a BLT so I gave it a shot. I was told the bacon is thick cut. Fair enough. The bacon on the BLT was the thickest most giant pieces of bacon I've ever seen in my life. Fortunately the fat was beautifully rendered and the bacon was crisp, but it was almost TOO crisp. Because it was so thick it actually became quite challenging to eat. I liked the whole grain bread it was served on, but the menu said it was served with red and yellow tomatoes, but I only had red tomatoes. I know I'm splitting hairs here, but it was just not quite what I expected. My BLT was good, but it was overwhelming and I honestly wouldn't order it again. I think they are trying to stand out by making this BLT larger than life, but it just isn't the easiest thing to eat... Overall, my experience at Besos was fine, but I wasn't really wowed. I'm also still pretty concerned by how long it took them to make two sandwiches...

    I couldn't decide between 4 and 5 stars but I ended up going with 5 because of the dessert. Part of my issue was my choice of order. I thought the tuna was very good with the soy and teriyaki sauce but it was surprisingly plain without it. The sesame seeds didn't add much flavor and the searing wasn't my style. But the experience was very nice and the food overall was definitely not disappointing. We were served bread and drinks while we looked at the menu. The bread was so delicious. It was warm, soft and served with a nicely spiced olive oil. I ordered the sesame yellow fin pan seared tuna steak which came with seaweed salad and a soy teriyaki sauce. The sides I picked were mashed potatoes and a saffron risotto peas dish. I didn't think any of them went particularly well together but individually they were delicious. The dessert was my favorite part. We ordered a homemade banana and cinnamon bread pudding which I didn't think I would like very much. I usually go for something with vanilla or chocolate. But it was not too sweet and not too soft. It had some crunch around the outside and a very tasteful amount of cinnamon. Probably one of my favorite bread desserts I've had.

    One of the beat meals and service. Had grilled steak crustini and it was perfection. The Antipasto was amazing. Service was great. I will come here again and again.

    This one is a bummer because I really liked this place, but my entree was just so epically bad that it ruined everything. I should start by saying the service was great. Our server recommended tasty drinks we both enjoyed and was knowledgeable with the menu. She was great. The stuffed mushroom app was good. Nothing amazing but it was tasty and we enjoyed it. An hour later my lamb came out. Overcooked, super dry, and just bad. Probably 3oz.of meat for $28. Similar to mutton. The cheesy mashed was not good. First time in my life I had to use a knife to cut my mashed potatoes. Congealed cheese blob on top of the otherwise tasty mashed. My wife really enjoyed her sea bass and told me not to complain because we had plenty of leftovers at home. Apparently I just got hosed tonight. The two stars go to our server, you were awesome. Tell the kitchen that lamb has serious issues.

    Me and my girlfriend were there this past Saturday night and sat at the bar outside on a beautiful evening. The service, drinks and food were excellent I especially am impressed by the best burger I've ever had. A bit pricey at $18 but well worth it. 10 ounces and topped with lobster meat! Will be back.

    Great atmosphere, food and drinks! Our bartender Brad was awesome! He paid particular attention to the food allergy of one person in our party and never made us feel as though we were a bother. I definitely recommend the craft cocktails and the scallop entree!

    I love the atmosphere at Besos. On a nice day it's great to sit outside. I've even enjoyed some acoustic live music outside. The inside is beautiful! I love the way they brought the trees into the restaurant. Everything is so pretty, and very clean. Cool artwork in the restrooms. The food is good! I've had breakfast and lunch at besos. The tea is great! I do plan on returning but for my liking I do feel the menu is somewhat limited. So I do often end up elsewhere

    Good food, nice atmosphere and top notch service. Beautifully designed former Victorian house with a nice wraparound porch which is nice for L fresco dining. I have had lunch and dinner here and have been pleased each time. Yummy!

    I enjoyed my meal at Besos. I was really looking forward to brunch but that's only available during the summer months. I will have to return in the summer months. :) The service was great, food was cooked to perfection and the decor renders a sense of tranquility. Ample parking in the two back lots.

    So since my last review I have returned to Besos a multitude of times. The service has improved 10 fold and it was wonderful to hear from the owner after my post. I have become a regular and can't seem to live without their spicy salmon. The staff is always friendly now and the wine selection is to die for. Thank you for reaching out to me and making feel my feelings are important. Besos is definitely one of my top 5 restaurants in Rhode Island.

    Perfect spot for a girls' night out or lunch. I have been here many times for either lunch or dinner with a friend. I came recently during Christmas vacation with my cousin. I ordered the winter veggie pizza- it was divine, lots of fresh veggies and feta with honey onions. My cousin enjoyed a steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. Her sandwich was very large! The only thing you have to deal with is the slow service, especially at lunch time. Put on your patience pants before you go and you'll be fine.

    Had dinner with 3 girlfriends...food was fresh, hot & delicious. The baked cheesy mashed gave me life. I can't even put into words how insanely satisfying they were. Scallops were great too-BUT highly suggest the cheesy mashed. Make sure you get double mashed! BOMB!!

    So I've been here a couple of times for dinner and we where able to crash at the bar. What a great atmosphere! The staff was great at our different visits and service and product was just as impressive. Very unique menu, great tapas. However we noticed the menu had changed from the first visit and was made aware that their menu is seasonal, so they can offer what is the freshest and in season from local farmers and harvesters and available. Definitely a 2 thumbs up for me. We'll be back again soon!

    Delicious food! Came for lunch and can't wait to come back for dinner! Had white bean soup and Caesar salad, it was the perfect lunch. Also had fish tacos that were delish, salmon was the fish of the day and very fresh and full of flavor. They also had entrees for a more hearty lunch. Many choices for wine and cocktails. Try it! Oh banana bread pudding was the best part of the experience!

    Fantastic service and food. Dined here this past Saturday night. We had an older person with us who can't walk without a walker or do stairs. The staff was more than accommodating and took him in a side entrance and even removed a chair for him to sit on his walker. The staff checked in multiple times throughout out the time we were there to see how it was going (not annoying amount though and it was a busy time) . The food was great as well. All 6 of us enjoyed the drinks ( they do not stiff on the liquor as most do now), the food (salad, pizzas, tacos, chicken, and a seafood dish) as well as the dessert. They are heart portions as well so worth the price. Just moved to the area and am thinking I will be here quite often!

    We had a very nice dinner at Besos. I had been there a few years ago and was not wild about it however the other night they really were as good as it gets. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and a nice appetizer. I had the spicy salmon, I tend to order salmon all the time and unfortunately sometimes I am disappointed, I was not at all. The salmon was cooked perfectly and very fresh, I appreciated the option of picking my own sides. I had the sweet potato wedges and asparagus. My husband had the steak special and he definitely enjoyed it! The risotto and mashed potatoes were some of the best he said. The place definitely impressed us, we love the eclectic decor and really love the porch and patio dining options. We look forward to returning on a warmer summer night!

    Have you ever found yourself in a romantic situation with a real hottie, but found out that they were hyper-aware of their attractiveness and therefore thought they didn't have to move around or do anything? That's what going to Besos is like. We went on a Friday night and there was great ambience and outdoor seating. With 7:30 reservations, we were seated on the front porch. So far so good. But then, trouble began. It took about 20 minutes to get our appetizer, which is acceptable on a Friday eve, but not impressive. With dinner orders long since placed, we sat, and sat.... and sat. Now, we were among friends and having a good time, so the absence of food was noted in passing, but not really an issue. Then when I finally looked at my watch, I thought surely it had broken. It was 9:15. 9:15?!?! We had been there for nearly TWO HOURS and been served one round of cocktails and one small appetizer pizza. Ten minutes later, the waitress moseyed by and said our food would be out in a few minutes. At that point, we were pretty sure someone in the kitchen had gone out to sea to fish out what we had ordered. Also, I have to say that for a Friday night and a fairly busy crowd, it didn't look like anyone was really hustling to get anything out. Our waitress was MIA for most of the evening, and when she did come by it was with the attitude of someone who was doing us a great favor by stopping through. But at least it didn't seem like we were alone. Peering out into the rest of the outside seating from the porch, we realized that most of the tables were empty of food, though there were plenty of people sitting and waiting. After careful consideration, two stars - and both of those stars are for the food, which was delicious, if somewhat outrageously priced. This had been high on our list of places in RI to try, but we will not be back.

    Went on a Saturday night. Sat outside. The view is of Main St and the convenience store across the street. It is a bit noisy with all the traffic but it was great weather. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Service was a good speed. We had the calamari appetizer. It was definitely very unique. It was non breaded calamari (rings only) mixed in with a very garlicky-lemony-salty pesto with peppers, sun dried tomatoes, olives and spinach. Wasn't what I expected and there wasn't much actual calamari but I absolutely loved the flavor of the sauce and the calamari was cooked nicely. I find many placed turn non-fried calamari to overcooked rubber bands but this was not the case here. I had the "surf and turf on a hot stone." It was a very large piece of beef filet and 3 grilled shrimp served on a hot piece of . The beef was perfectly cooked and trimmed. It was also a decent sized portion. Overall, an excellent piece of beef and suprisingly as good as any nice steakhouse I've been to. The shrimp were just 3 grilled shrimp with some seasoning. Cooked fine. Its what you'd expect. I had the cheese bake mash (potato) and the spinach for my sides. Cheese potato was good. The spinach was the only low point. It had quite a few burned black leaves that looked as though they stuck to the bottom of the pot mixed in so the whole thing was kind of inedible and burned tasting. My wife had the scallops entrée. It was 4 jumbo scallops in a yellow curry sauce. It had a nice flavor and was cooked perfectly. Her asparagus and red bliss potato were very good and nicely cooked. Overall, other than the burned spinach, it was an excellent meal and good service. I'd go back and probably order the same entree.

    Service, drinks and atmosphere are AMAZING. apps were also very delicious. Deal breaker is what I found in tuna entree - the seaweed salad came out with a piece of plastic in it! Upon pointing it out to waiter, the manager inspected and informed us it was a piece of plastic bag from the salad they use that "fell in". Her only reconciliation was that she was taking it off the bill. Jeez thanks - I didn't even finish it and was NOT offered a new one. Mistakes happen but as a business you need to make it up to the customer somehow. There were four of us. All got drinks, apps and entrees. Won't be rushing back there!!

    I went here with five other co-workers for a holiday lunch celebration on one of their recommendations. I ordered the endive caesar salad and the poblano shrimp dumpling soup because they were both menu items you don't see every day. The salad was excellent, dressing on the side (as requested-- it's a big deal). The croutons were pretty much just toasted bread, so that was sort of boring. The soup was interesting, a southwestern broth soup filled with veggies and the shrimp dumplings, which were actually shumai (not jumping to any conclusions, but they were verrrry similar to the ones I buy at Trader Joe's). The peach sangria was also a plus :) For those of you who like tuna, the two people in my party who had it absolutely raved about it. Service was neither turtle- nor hare-paced, but we were all gabbing so none of us was really paying attention. Adding to the experience, for me, was the decor. They surrounded the columns in birch logs, which creates a really pretty effect. The wide panel flooring adds a cozy feel. They have a great fire pit area outside that looks awesome for nights that aren't in the 20s. All classy, yet comfy. Unlike many other reviewers, I didn't go with expectations of a tea house, but I can see why going here you might be a wee bit disappointed, as "tea house" to me conjures up something akin to going to my Scottish husband's grandmothers' or one of the lovely tea rooms over there-- scones, knitted tea cozies, no full bar or ahi tuna... nonetheless, they do have "afternoon tea" on the menu if you go from 4-5.

    My wife and I ate here the other night by chance. Sometimes fortune smiles on you. This is a new restaurant - I don't understand the "tea house" in the name as it's not anything like a tea house. It's cool, sophisticated, and urban, from the decor to the food. The food. We had a few tapas and a salad. The best of the three tapas we ordered was the house made chorizo and polenta. The chorizo was amazing, seriously good. It was grilled, split in half and served a top a creamy polenta base that covered the plate. We got some shrimp tapas, which was also very good, but not amazing like the chorizo. The third tapas was these little peppers stuffed with potato, onion, herbs and topped with a white anchovy on each pepper. These were outstanding and for me a close second to the chorizo. The salad was arugula and goat cheese, which had some chopped walnuts I think and that too was really delicious. The waitstaff is very friendly, and they have been obviously well trained by the management. Our waitress told us it was her first night there, and she was great, knew the menu, got us some extra goat cheese for the salad, made us feel welcome. The restaurant is beautiful. There is a small bar which has a marble counter that runs up the back wall of the bar and there's a little lounge room which is very cool. It has a unique style throughout. There were one or two things that they need to smooth still, being so new. My wife ordered a mojito, which is listed on the menu as a signature drink, but we were told they didn't have the ingredients that night. Not a big deal, but next time we go, we'll see if they have mojitos. We'll definitely go back, as the food was outstanding and it was a pleasure to eat in a place that doesn't feel like everything else in Rhode Island.

    I went to Besos with my wife and some friends a couple of weeks ago. I had pan seared scallops, with a strawberry glaze. I was a bit worried when I ordered this as I LOVE scallops, but thought a strawberry glaze might overwhelm the seafood. It was amazing! One of the best meals I've had in recent memory. The scallops were perfectly done, over a bed of wilted spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I highly recommend it!

    Tapas with the huz on a Saturday night. Stopped in for a quick bite before heading out to a movie. We didn't have a reservation so the hostess checked the rez list to see if we could be seated. We were the only folks in the place, but I understand the need to plan seating for the rest of the evening. We were seated at a lovely table for two in the corner of the tastefully decorated dining room after initially turning down the only two seater high top in the place that was located in the bar. Not averse to bar seating, but we were in the mood for something a little more intimate and cozy. Our seating seemed perfectly suited for some romantic chit chat until the hostess seated two more couples right next to us. I mean the whole place was empty except for the trio of us cramped into the corner. I just think the seating could have been a little more thoughtful. There was a palpable level of discomfort among the three couples with our seating sitch. (Romance? *poof* It was gone.) We weren't terribly hungry so we decided to split three of the enticing small plate tapas offerings. We selected calamari florentine, sirloin crostini and the clam zuppa. We started our meal with a split caesar salad. The bite size bits of romaine were lightly dressed in a flavorful dressing and complemented by the crispy croutons. Glad we split the salad because it was generous. The tapas dishes missed the mark. Two of the three dishes arrived cold which I find unacceptable with our server just having one table and the restaurant virtually empty. I love sauteed calamari sans breading but their variation was overly oily and just had too many strong flavors competing on the plate with none of them working together. Kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes,capers and hot pickled peppers overwhelmed the tender pieces of calamari and just left me thirsty. The sirloin crostini was served raw (with not even a trace of grill marks), not rare and the sauce drizzled atop was cold and flavorless. There were a TON of onions atop the crostini which would have been a welcome addition had they been caramelized but they were barely softened. Next up - Clams zuppa. A fave of mine. I expected a light wine broth. Their ample portion was served up hot with nice chunks of chorizo sausage but with a creamy saffron (?) broth. Again - this dish was loaded with sliced onions as well as red peppers . Any effort the chef put toward any delicate seasoning in the broth was lost with the overpowering taste of raw onion and peppers. Service was average. Our water glasses were never empty and our drink orders were promptly handled. Our server checked in with us an appropriate amount of time. Without alcohol and a tip factored in, the tab came to over $60 which is a little steep on my cost to satisfaction scale. I really wanted to like this place for its' tapas offerings. It's something different from what's offered by its Main Street restaurant neighbors. I may have to go back for another try but for now I am left wanting so much more.

    Tasty tapas! I loved the chorizo clams zuppa. I had a lima bean salad a while back but im not sure if they still have it on the menu. We always have great service, the server was just amazing. Cant wait to go back!

    We went to Besos last weekend for a graduation dinner- wish that I could give them ten stars!! We were a large party, so we were seated in a side room. Great decor- nice, comfy place for a celebration. The food was also fabulous!! Eleven people- some quite picky, and not a single complaint. We ordered a variety of appetizers (tapas) and everything was wonderful. We tried two types of grilled calamari (who knew- it's better without the breading!!), a little neck appetizer that was proclaimed by several people as "the best ever!", two bruschettas- both just great, and several others. I have to say, the very best was the polenta with linguica! If you are looking for a big order of linguica, this isn't it- it's a bowl of the BEST polenta ever with some diced linguica over the top, but it was simply FABULOUS! We were sharing and several people said that if they came again they might order that with a salad as their meal- it was that good. We had so very many appetizers that you would think that we couldn't eat the meals, but you would be wrong! We had a wide variety of entrees and everything came out correct and cooked to order (I no longer take that for granted!!). The filet that was asked for rare actually came out rare; the medium caribbean steak came out medium- good service all the way around. We had a variety of the dinner entrees. A filet special with scallops was pronounced great- the caribbean steak was a definite order again (and again), the two orders of scallops with strawberry glaze were huge, plump and clearly fresh- just great!, etc., etc. Meals were plated beautifully, food was fresh and hot, sides were delicious, everything was really wonderful. And, we had great service! Our waitress was just terrific. She made sure everything was perfect, was very knowledgeable about the menu, was friendly and patient with our large party- she was just great!! Thanks, Besos- we'll be back (again and again!!).

    Agreed with fellow Yelpers that Besos is certainly not what I'd consider to be a tea house. But, this place has a great wine/cocktail list, amazing tapas, and some of the best chilean sea bass around. And, I heard a rumor that on Monday/Tuesday nights martinis and tapas are half-price - worth a revisit for sure!

    Since my first review I have been to Besos 2 more times, and cannot say anything bad (and I am a picky). 2nd visit was for a summer lunch We sat outside in the lounge type area-- I got the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer and Gazpacho Soup and my guest got a bread special and the same soup. The soup was VERY different from Gazpacho I've had before (it had zucchini and yellow squash). But it was a good different. Dessert was nothing short of awesome! The issues we had were minor. We ordered The Blueberry Fizz and the bartender forgot to add something so it was too sweet, but the server was very attentive and had it corrected immediately. The only think I would warn future patrons about is servers description of plate size. We ordered from the "Tapas Plates" and expected small servings. The waitress described everything to be small, so we were ordered more food, and ended up with a take home bag. In reality the tapas were big enough to share. 3rd Visit was just a quick drink with a friend and an appetizer complaints. Love this place!

    Love the vibe here, the decor is amazing. Went in with two friends and had a great time, they even had my favorite vodka (titos). The bartender concoted a pepper martini, that was to die for! Also had marsala with risotto which was delicious. If every restaurant in the world sold risotto as good as thiers I would die a happy lady. I'll def be back.

    We enjoyed a wonderful meal here on a Monday evening, celebrating a special occasion. Main Street, East Greenwich has turned into such a trendy destination for shopping, eating and drinking - and Beso's adds to the charm! Walk up the riser-lit steps onto the wrap-around porch (we found street parking, but they do offer valet) and into an elaborately decorated dining area, bar, and off to the right - lounge. We liked the decor - but it was a little more opulent and planned than our taste. Thought that the birch-tree surrounded columns were a really cool idea. Our waiter, Gus, was efficient, friendly, and made good recommendations. We enjoyed some tapas: grilled shrimp (wonderful!), stuffed oysters (scrumptious and cheesy), and Maryland crab crostini (sweet and cheesy). Then we moved onto a split entree of risotto with shrimp - creamy but firm risotto, and the shrimp (3 each) were plump and flavorful. Throughout our meal we spilt a nice bottle of off-menu Argentinian Malbec. Total without tip: $105. Why three vs four stars? I can't do 3.5. Not sure how often I'd make the trip down for Beso's (that is such a RI-excuse). And, although I personally think melted cheese makes everything better, it may be a bit too rich for some. I'd recommend trying it out - a little pricey, but a lovely and different experience from the West Bay-norm!

    We went here a couple of weekends ago and tried their brunch menu. First off, the menu is quite extensive. I'm not sure why they decided to have so many options on it, but hey, who am I to complain if they can carry it off. Seeing it was a Friday around 11:30 am, the place was not near to being full, with only a couple of other tables occupied. So service was quick and efficient. I ordered one of the "Mexican Style" egg dishes, and my wife had a salad. While the food was good, we weren't bowled over. Then again, how often does that happen at brunch? Prices were perhaps somewhat above average for a brunch of the quality/quantity we received, I think. Anyway, the space is nicely decorated, and we were happy to try something out on Main Street in EG that wasn't a pizza/Italian place. We both said that we wouldn't mind coming back to try some other items on the menu, but it's been a few weeks and whenever we're thinking of some place to go for dinner, Besos never pops to mind. Hmmmmmmm . . .

    Finally, a new restaurant on Main St that is not Italian...and this one's a keeper. Taking it's place on the first floor of The Elms, Besos Tea House offers tapas, entrees, a lunch menu, and an extensive martini selection...apparently high tea is coming soon...eh, no thanks... Went last night - day 3 of operation, and things were firing on all cylinders. Was seated outside, which was great, but staring at East Greenwich Farms & Cathay Garden are not idyllic views. The service was fantastic - extremely attentive, apologetic when the kitchen made a mistake - a big plus. Order six different tapas plates - chorizo stuffed mushrooms and the pork taquitos were highlights (although the taquitos were more like soft shelled tostadas - not rolled - wtf?). Overall, great menu. A blend of Spanish, international fusion - will be hitting the entrees next time, although tapas have been a long time coming to EG, and are a welcome addition... Cocktails were extremely strong - I'm happy to get my money's worth, but I needed a sidecar of club soda to soften my drink. Sometimes even too strong is, well, too strong. It's on the pricier side - the six plates & two rounds of cocktails for two, with tip, ran $130. One negative - called to make a reservation earlier in the day, and was told they take no reservations for parties under 6. It was explained to me that if someone came in looking for a table, and they were holding an empty table for a reservation, that the customer might get upset. Sorry, am I missing something? This is pretty standard operating procedure. You offer valet service, yes? Think about offering reservations too.

    This is one of my favorite places to go. The decor on the inside is beautiful and very romantic. It is small inside but in a good way. The Red Sangria is amazing and the food is delicious!! The last time I went, my boyfriend and I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with chorizio for an appetizer and even though they were small they were very good!! I wish they were bigger mushrooms. They have a very good risotto here as well that they usually serve as a side. It's a great place to go on a date and somewhere that you can go over and over and try something new. The Tappas Menu and regular menu is very big and a lot to choose from.

    I wish that I could give this place 0 stars. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! We had a reservation for 7pm and we were quickly seated. We waited for 18 minutes before server #1 came to our table and told us the specials and took our drink order. 20 minutes later, server #2 informs us that he is now our server and would we like to order. We ordered an appetizer from the specials menu that arrived 25 minutes later, 5 minutes after that our drinks arrived that we had ordered an hour before. I ordered the rack of lamb which is not a rack at all but 4 very clumsily cut mini lamb chops that were not seared and purple. Not medium rare, cold and purple. My friend's steak was also very undercooked and tough as a saddle. Both go back and we order different entrees. One hour later, we finally receive our replacement entrees by the manager that we had asked for 3xs over the past 45 minutes, ICE COLD. We tell her about our experience thus far and she assures us that not only will we not be paying for anything, but to please order dessert and gave us a couple of drink coupons for our next visit. I didnt eat my cold and unappetizing meal but I figured, what the hell, its free, I am done complaining. Chalk this up to a bad night. We order dessert and while waiting, our server brings us a check and rather sheepishly asks us to look at it and make sure that it is ok. It was for $180! WHAT??? What happened to comp???? We had been here for over 3 hours, have had nothing decent to eat, hell, I was still hungry, and we were being asked to pay $180!!! We call the manager over again, she refuses to comp the meal, we remind her that she told us that she would. She storms away from our table, saying, "I guess you are not paying then" We leave, without dessert, and are met with the Valet refusing to give us our car. Finally, he relents. Three hungry women must have out the scare in him. We are starting to drive off as the police pull up. We explain our selves to the policeman and he decides to let us go. As we are getting ready to peel away, the "head waiter" comes out and apologizes to us while saying that he will comp our bill as long as we do not bad mouth the restaurant. What???? Needless to say, I will never ever go there again. Even if she had comped our meal as she promised she would, the food is crap. No one in the kitchen knows how to cook or even how to put together a dish.

    Never eaten anything but the tapas here and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu is excellent and the patio is a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. Service is usually very good, but it sometimes takes too long to get a waitress engaged. Tonight was my third visit and I will return frequently.

    Went tonight, after rave reviews from my parents. We sat outside in a rain storm, not ideal but after fighting my way through the bar crowd to get to the bathroom (we'll get to that later), i'll take the wind continually blowing away my napkin and goosebumps over loud and cramped. The bread was served warm with a slightly spicy oil, it would have been nice to know what the oil was. The plates were never cleared though, no extra bread was brought, just messy bread plates left on the table. The menu is a bit of a mess, is it spanish?, is it italian?, is it indian?, is it caribbean? it it asian? what are you? i think the menu asks itself that everyday. I understand fusion, but that fad is kinda fading, also just pick one or two countries. I ordered the duck, which came with 2 pieces of grilled zucchini, mashed potatoes, sliced duck, delicious cherries(best part of dish, although menu said it infused with ginger, tasted great but no ginger). The meats on 2 of the dishes were pre sliced, and my duck had this weird watery sauce on the plate, i dont know if it was there by accident or what. Also no salt and pepper on our table and i thought maybe its just the chef being cocky and thinking his seasoning was perfection, nope just server laziness. The fat on the duck was not rendered, tough and with it being pre cut lost a lot of the flavor and juices. This could have been my fault ordering it medium, the menu says pan seared, but if i had ordered it this way i could only imagine the fat and thelack of crispness of the skin. I tried my mother's special of the filet mignon, portobello mushroom and a sun dried tomato sauce. The sauce was so acidic i thought my tooth enamal was coming off. The prices were not bad, most dishes were under $30. Drink menu very pricey. For dessert the waitress informed us that if we wanted the chocolate lava cake or the fruit tart that it would take up to 15 min because those are the only 2 desserts they make in house. I would have left that last part out. Most restaurants buy in their desserts, and most patrons are not aware of this fact, but do not make it known to your table. The sauce on the cheesecake was a dessertscape sauce, its crappy product that most common restaurants have as a quick way of plating. At least if you are not going to make your own desserts, at least make your own sauces (you are making enough money with your markup of liquor). It wasnt the best meal, it wasnt the worst meal. Oh and the bathrooms if you ever wanted to know what you looked like peeing from above, go eat here. you get a whole new view of yourself, you may or may not have ever wanted to see.

    usually only eat breakfasts at Besos which are great. but this New Years we decided to try dinner. Our meal was fabulous, the scollop appetizer was one of my favorites and the lamp pops were to die for!! Our server Caroline was professional courteous and fully decried the menu and answered all our questions. we did not feel rushes and she created a warm friendly vibe. She was joined by Kelsey (another server) who helped her out. She gave us hats for New Years and was fun as well. both girls seem very happy to be working at Besos and the attitude was addicting. We'll definitely be back!

    ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD...PERIOD! Would love nothing more than to give a glowing review for the food....BUT we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it! Went there on a nice Summer evening to enjoy the nice outdoor seating (very loungy) and after short wait we were escorted to a nice table exactly where we were hoping...ready to enjoy a nice meal! Water was poured for all, waitress reviewed 'specials' and bread was delivered. THEN the bombshell! ...I'll preface this by first saying that i dine out quite a bit (during biz travel and/or leisure) and I don't get too uptight about long waits, so-so service, etc. (if food is terrific) but this is the FIRST time this has ever happened to me. The hostess...who had just seated us 15-20 mins prior walks over and rudely says......."I'm sorry, I have folks that reserved this table, i have to ask you all to move to another table!" .......We were all shocked over the lack of professionalism, common courtesy and total disregard shown to us as customers! For the record....fully understand mistakes around reservations can be made from time to time......it's how they are handled (or mishandled in this case) that makes all the difference! Needless to say...we all walked out and I felt compelled to post about what a negative experience it was! Telling everyone that will listen... Avoid this place! Too bad....the food 'smelled' good! LOL

    I've been here twice, once for drinks and appetizers and once for a light brunch-ish type situation. The Sangria was disappointing, but after reading the tapas menu, I was already feeling disillusioned. My husband is from Spain and I've been to Spain at least a dozen times, and when I see a tapas menu, I get excited. This is no Spanish tapas menu. This is like, someones idea of trendy food from the 80's. I wouldn't have gone back but then my amazing sister-in-law booked me a massage for my birthday and afterwards we went to Besos due to it's proximity to the spa. We had mimosas and shared a salad and it was fine, but it's also fine to have mimosas at your house and make your own salad. And actually, it'd be better.

    As my husband would say, this place has a lot of potential. It has a good location and ambiance but not a defined identity. It is called a tea house, but it has a limited section of tea even though they serve "high tea". At night, it has a sizeable young bar crowd. The dinner selections are varied and spotty. A star on the menu is the sea bass which was expertly prepared. A steak ordered medium well arrived barely cooked. We haven't experienced a service issue as have others, but nothing about this restaurant wows us. For the prices charged, the owner needs to reconsider the direction of the restaurant if it is to sustain in the long run.

    I attended a small party here. I was leery after hearing not the greatest things. I kept an open mind. I found the interior very quaint and well-lit, and was optimistic. As I observed the area..it wasn't the cleanest. As I previewed the brunch menu I ordered two bloody Mary's. It came to $25. I realized the prices were going to be high for small product and hoped I could expect good quality food for it. My party was sat and we were comfortable. We ordered simple pizzas which were very average, and two large antipastos. They were not 'large' for $18. A nice array with questionable meats (fresh?..) but fresh cheese. I picked up the salad at the center, which was horribly wilted. And there was a dead fly... I took the plate to the manager..The staff is very young and polite but impresses as inexperienced. He said he would replace the plate, which he did quickly, but I was surprised he didn't replace both of them. Personally, I am done eating once I see a bug or anything unclean or uncooked. The second plate was beautiful. I didn't stay for lunch but the sandwiches appeared very small for the money. I just think quality should be high and consistency and expedience should be paramount, given this restaurant gets the same complaints. They should be looking at their products and asking - does this look perfect, and is the consumer going to be thrilled. I think they assume a clientele and get the high prices without caring about cleanliness or quality. Just be careful, your odds are 50-50 given what I've read...

    We sat outside on the front porch on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. There was a lot of vehicle traffic on the street. The food took about 30 minutes to be served which we felt was a long time. The hamburgers were tasty but not worth it because of the small size and the $12 price. They included a small portion of cut potatoes and salad. The server was nice but never refilled our water glasses.

    Simply lovely. Sat outside on the porch and enjoyed 5 tapas dishes. I can't name them all, but they were great. The Open Faced Quesadilla was a favorite as was the Antipasto. Wished we had had room for dessert. We will definitely be back!

    I love this place. Atmosphere is great. Drinks are even better and the Tapas are the best in RI. Any of the Sea Bass Entree's are as fresh as it gets as I believe the owner is the importer for RI. Service has been great. My favorite place to go with wife or a big group. Only critisim is the sides on some of the entree's are Blah but the fish is great. My wife and I go and just order Tapas, get two and order another two when finished and you get to taste a lot of great food and more than fill you up.

    Hands down one of the worst restaurants I've been to (and I've been to many restaurants all over the world). I almost feel that if you wrote down that you liked this restaurant you've never been to a restaurant that's actually good. We chose this restaurant because it looked cute and the menu looked really good. I made a reservation for 8 PM on the patio. Our table was ready at 8 and we were seated outside. That was the end of our good experience here. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, I ordered the sesame crusted tuna cooked rare - just seared on the outside, one of my friends ordered the scallops and my other friend ordered the pizza bella and a salad. After almost an hour of waiting we asked for bread because we were drinking sangria and were starving. The waitress was kind enough to apologize and say it would be out in a minute, but I'm not sure what measure of time she was using. When we walked through the restaurant nobody was eating. It was as if the chef went on strike and they had nobody to cook the food. At 9:30 PM I demanded that if our food was not out in 5 minutes we would pay for our sangria and bread and go to another restaurant to eat. We got our food at 9:45 PM. Our waitress was very apologetic and offered free dessert. The tuna was cold and overcooked. My friend's scallops were cold. The pizza bella needs a new name because it is not pizza at all - just call it a stuffed portabella mushroom. My friend was expecting pizza and that is not what she got. Since this restaurant had the balls to charge NYC prices (I'm from NY) for my tuna I returned it and when it came back it was warm, but extremely overcooked (barely pink on the inside - inedible unless it were mixed with some mayo and made into tuna salad). I told them that it was inedible and just ate the seaweed salad that came with it. The Spanish rice was awful and didn't go with the tuna. The waitress and hostess were extremely apologetic. They offered me a free drink which I declined because I had had enough to drink and not enough to eat. It was 10 PM and I was not going to wait for them to make me something else. I had some of my friends' salad and bread. They did take my tuna off the bill. When it was time for dessert the waitress said they were out of tiramisu and she emphasized that there were two desserts that were delicious but would take 15 minutes to make. They were the best looking desserts on the menu so we decided, since we had already waited so long, to order the fruit tarte and the banana bread pudding. They came out in less than 15 minutes. The dough on the apple pear tart was overcooked in some places and undercooked in others. The banana bread pudding was okay. The dollops of whipped cream add nothing to the meal, look like they just put some Redi whip squirts on the side and should be removed. This restaurant should take off 3/4 of what's one their menu and focus on making a few good things well rather than not being able to make anything at all.

    Besos is a nice addition to an already bustling Main Street in East Greenwich. There are many restaurants to choose from in only a few block stretch. The pros: eclectic menu, serving some items you probably have not seen elsewhere. The decor is really nice. I liked the outdoor seating, but the view left much to be desired (care to face a run down bodega/deli? - well then here's your seat!). The cons: they don't take reservations and it's a small space. The bartender was gruff. I wouldn't say rude, but she certainly did not make me feel all that welcome. But most off, the prices. They are just way too steep for Main Street, East Greenwich - for what you get. I've been here a few times, but last night is the night the prompted me to write. I ordered an antipasto - menus says, "cured meats and imported cheeses with artichokes and olives". Ok, this is up my alley. My plate comes and it is drizzled all over with some sweet balsamic reduction. If they were to include that, it should have been noted on the menu. I don't eat sugary things, so I had to send it back. When it comes back, it is noticeably SMALLER! What? Yes! This is what it consisted of: bleu cheese crumbles, goat cheese crumbles, 3 small pieces of cheddar. That was the "imported cheese selections". Yes, imported from Whole Foods, maybe. Whoever heard of bleu cheese crumbles in an antipasto? How the hell do you eat that? The cured meats consisted of THREE pieces of Prosciutto. Yes, folks, three pieces of Prosciutto. That's it, baby, don't ask for any more. They had a small salad of the artichokes & olives. So, this was $20. Outrageous. My first visit there was slightly better, but the wait staff really needs to be trained better. All in all, it's a nice place, but I won't be going back because the value for the money is so disproportionate that it makes me feel like a sucka.

    first let me say the good things about the restaurant....beautiful decor, great location and food.....now for the bad.....when you have a reservation should you have to wait 30 minutes to get seated??? and then be seated in the bar??? don't think so, not for these prices!!! our waiter made some minor and major mistakes....ordered the wrong meal for one person, and kept forgetting simple things.....although he tried to be attentive and apologized, we found his manner condescending and annoying....we will not return!!!!!!

    First off, it's great seeing a restaurant team in East Greenwich trying to break out of the routine Italian and New England seafood models. Besos an eclectic newcomer is trying to do that with an aggressive menu and high art concept interior design. I'll give the restaurant a bit of a pass as they have just opened, but they need to reign in their overzealous launch. The menu, a blend of southern Mediterranean (Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc) is far reaching and probably try's to do too much as it is expansive. They would do well to cut 1/3 of the options to focus and hone their product. That being said the food is good and a step above most of the other local offerings. The chorizo menu options are great (there are several) as are a few of the seafood options. The seared yellowtail was great. Other items, including the Chilean Seabass and the grilled calamari over spinach were ok. Given time I think the team will hone their production and EG may have a great place to eat out.

    2 friends and I went here at 11:00 for brunch on a Sunday. I love the decor, a little bit of big city vibe here in EG. We were the only patrons the entire time we were there. I ordered the eggs benedict with pork. It was delicious. The pork was very tender and the eggs were poached well. There was an odd pairing of mayo, refried beans, cheese and plantains along with the dish, however I enjoyed most of it. We each ordered egg dishes and recieved the same accompaniments. The service was average, I don't recall her asking if we were enjoying our meals and we had to ask what the items were that were served with our dishes, the servers were all preparing for the day, we felt as if we came before it was open. I too agree that they need to decide what they are. A tea house? Mexican? I will definitely be back for dinner and drinks soon and will write another review at that time. 3 stars for now .     Ever a fan of tea and tapas and Main St EG, I was excited to try Besos. I give them 3 stars for the decor and the tapas. The decor is right up my alley with vintage pieces highlighted by bold modern colors and romantic lighting. The tapas did not dissapoint- the shrimp and white beans were tasty, the lobster-crab cakes had a chunky texture, and the stuffed peppers, my favorite food of the evening, was flavorful and roasted to perfection. Unfortunately my compliments end there. The service was slow and awkward- I asked a question about the wine menu and she said she was going to go ask the bartender and I watched and waited while she walked right by the bartender (who was 5ft from our table) and literally made me wait for ten minutes for an answer before I could choose and order. I don't eat chicken and meat and prefer to avoid seafood but there were hardly any vegetarian entree options at Besos unless you want pasta or Asian noodles. So I went with the blackened salmon. It wasn't blackened and it was a very cheap piece of pale weak fish. For a $25 salmon entree this is unacceptable. I did however like the fresh greens and commend any restaurant that has them. Another guest had a filet mignon and it was also not a quality piece of meat for the price. In addition we watched our entrees sit under the heating lamps for much much much too long before being served. A male manager or owner of some kind sat at the bar and stared out at the tables the whole night and would occasionally help make coffee but never once checked on the tables or said hello to customers. I think Besos has great potential but they need to improve service and quality of the entrees or they will suffer the fate of so many other well-meaning EG restaurants that disappear.

    A friend and I had a late lunch here a couple of weeks ago. We split a burger and the fish tacos. Both were tasty and cooked well. The sides were a little off and not quite up to par with the main part of the meal. Our server recommended the bread pudding for dessert (made to order and worth the wait!) and warned us that it would ruin us for life. She was right! While our entrees were good, they are a distant memory as the dessert sealed the deal, it was amazing. Great ambience and decor make this place feel like a super indulgent treat.

    I'm really pleased with the ' re-birth' of Besos over the past few months. I could never fault the decor; it's quite chic- wonderful attention to detail with customer comfort top priority, whether one chooses to dine inside ot out (seasonal). The modest size bar is intelligently configured in a U-shape; fantastic for people watching or striking up some easy conversation. The menu has changed for the better. The prices are very fair, without sacrificing quality or quantity. I highly recommend Besos. A 'big city' dining experience without the inconvenience that urban restaurants sometimes carry.

    Terrible terrible service. I came here with a friend a while back in the summer. It was really busy but we were seated quickly. However after that it went downhill. The server took a LONG time to come over and take our drink orders. It took a while for the waters to come as well. So we put in our drink orders for martinis and wait...and wait. We mentioned to a busboy and another server that we were waiting on drinks, haven't seen out server. Then we see her finally (after a good 15 min) and she walks outside and spills like ten drinks on the ground. Poor thing but we were disappointed to say the least. My friend is a diabetic and she had given herself insulin so we were at least expecting some bread and drinks to come out since she has to eat within about 20-30 minutes of taking her insulin. The server never brought us drinks or took our order even asking several servers to help us. We walked right out of that place after 35 min of waiting for NOTHING! Worst service ive ever had. Walked down the street to another restaurant and had dinner within 20 min. Can't even review the food or drink because I never received anything! Seemed as if everyone working at this place with totally inexperienced and didnt have a clue to what they were doing and totally ignored my friend and I.

From calling for the reservation to the drink at the bar the meal it was a fantastic evening.     3 1/2 stars This was kind of a sum-of-all-parts experience for me: Sitting on the deck was great...lovely view of Main St., cool breeze, it rained but we were on the covered porch and there was a rainbow afterwards. Nice. Service was fine...she was very nice, and seeing as she was dividing her time between inside and outside tables (it seemed), she was timely. Food was good. We split about 7 tapas. The menu is a little hard to read because they offer SO many options arranged without rhyme or reason...I think grouping by protein or ethnicity (French? Italian? Japanese? Caribbean?) would be helpful as well. Price was fine as well. Tapas ranged from $8-$20. Decor was REALLY nice! I peeked about inside and there were a lot of nice accent pieces, funky art, and cool architectural details. I'm not raving and don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, but I had a nice evening. If a friend wanted to meet in the EG area, I'd certainly recommend this as a rendezvous.

    Although we waited for twenty minutes before a server came to our table, and we had to bring this to the host's attention- the manager was very apologetic and the service was good for the remainder of the experience. Our group ordered three different cocktails- Engineer, Circus Boy & Wharf Mojito- all were very good. We started with the small antipasto, which was a good size and a nice blend of offerings. For dinner, we had beet salads, rack of lamb, pork tacos and snow crab & leek ravioli. Everything was very good, my only (very small) complaint was that ravioli was a bit too al dente and not fork tender and was served in a dish that seemed far too large and awkward. The two after dinner drinks we tried- their take on a chocolate martini and a nutty something-or-other were good. All and all, nice ambiance, very good food and drinks.

    A must in the heart of EG! Definitely goes along with the charm of the town! It was my first time here and the decor as soon as I walked in was beautiful. The black chandeliers and wall of fancy mirrors are eye-appealing and the tables were not close together, like you see at most places. As a night out catching up with friends, we started with some drinks. I had the Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, while my friends enjoyed a glass of red (recommended by our server) and a blueberry mojito, which she said was delicious! For an entree, I had the sesame crusted tuna steak and it was mouth watering! I wished it never ended! Choice of sides were sautéed spinach (which was garlicky-I liked!) and oven roasted potatoes. There was plenty on the plate for sure! My friends both chose a special for that night of swordfish and steak risotto. Both which they thoroughly enjoyed and were able to take some home. The plates were reasonably priced. This may have been my first time here, but was definitely not my last!

    Gentle kisses of black beans, sweet fried plantains, homemade corn tortillas, queso fresco, and fingerling potatoes line your plate and finish off your pallet. Today was my second visit to Besos and I will certainly be back for its love. If you want a perfectly poached egg, order the benedict which comes with your choice of pork or chicken and either homemade hollandaise or spinach cream sauce that has been gently graced with garlic. The egg runs ever-so as you cut into the meat and grilled italian bread. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Cocktails were popular this morning, as they're want to be during brunch. Mimosas made it around the table until me who decided to go all out with a Makers Manhattan. That stiff little drink was served large, in a martini glass, after a rigorous shake behind the bar. The bourbon-butter finish and perfectly proportioned vermouth and bitters along with a sunken maraschino cherry made for more mouth watering. *The music is a delightful ambient lounge during the morning hours *They serve high tea from 4:00 - 5:00 daily *The women's bathroom is filled with music, sexy lighting, an amazing barn door mural, and just enough warmth to never want to leave. I would say the only thing missing is a fireplace, but the cozy side room more then makes up for this privation. Hope to see you at Besos next Sunday.

    I like to dine here for the tapas and sip on cocktails. The chorizo clams zuppa is my favorite so far. I have only visited here on Friday or Saturday nights, and it is always busy. I have always managed to get a couple of seats at the bar but I would recommend making reservations if you're looking to be seated and have a true dining experience. The atmosphere is lovely. Warm, intimate lighting, with some great art and decor to gaze at. I have thoroughly enjoyed each experience I've had here.

    Each time I make it to East Greenwich, I make a point to stop at Besos, even if just for a cocktail. My recent visit to Besos was stellar. My wife and I were seated outside. We noticed they have now installed a bar on their patio. The bar design stays with the rustic, yet elegant motif. We split one of the grilled pizzas and let me tell you it was great. I had my usual, the Surf and Turf, great presentation. My wife had the grilled Mahi. I obviously had to try some, and I was impressed. Service was great and food was even better! Finished the meal with a coffee liquor drink, which was more a liquid dessert. A+ once again Besos!!!

    Fun lively atmosphere. Really cute place, wish it was warmer so we could sit outside. I got the red sangria which was pleasantly large and festive. The goat cheese and blueberry peach salad special was to die for. I wish I could eat it every day. The pork was moist tasty and delicious clearly it was slow cooked. The best pork I've ever had. Yep. The scallop, sea bass potato Napoleon made an awesome entree so all things considered, this could be our go to place.

    Today my friends and I visited Besos for a meal and cocktails. When it was time to leave we decided to move to the bar in order for the staff to clean the area where we had been seated. Whilst at the bar we were given the bill. Myself and other friend were discussing how to split the bill. I had ordered more cocktails than others so I thought it only fair that I pay a bigger portion of the check. Whilst having this discussion a friend decided to order another round of drinks. I was refused a drink due to the barman claiming that I was intoxicated. When pressed for his reassoning he claimed to have made the decision that I was intoxicated due to my reasoning on how the bill should be split. whilst having a conversation about his statement with other members of our party he then made this comment. " if you were not intoxicated you would have remembered making the comment" I simply didnt remember making this comment as I didnt feel it was important nor was I intoxicated. As a family we have spent serval evening and lunch times in your location and in fact we had a group dinner here on Christmas Day. I have never ever been spoken to in such a disgusting manner and find it to be strange that no one was concerned about how much I had drunk when it came to leaving a tip. Never again will I use or recommed your restaurant. I am very happy to report however that I had left my cell phone on Video as we were taking video and shots for our blog and I have recorded your bartenders insult. To say I am digusted is an understatement but I plan to fill my time filling in reviews honestly of the service I received tonight.

    Found this place while exploring the neighborhood. Great location with live guitar music on a Sunday afternoon. You can sit outside and the interior is swanky and nice. The menu looks great and it's refreshing to see items that you don't normally find in RI. HOWEVER...I could have used more chorizo in my bean soup with spinach and less oil. I also could have used LESS mangos in my Mango salad. It seemed like the chef just tossed in a pound of defrosted Trader Joe's mangos into my salad and used the water from the defrosting process to let my salad swim in its juice. I was so excited to have this salad, but the mangos really overtook the whole thing. We also had a burger, which was good, along with some great potatoes. Service was so so since we waited for a long time to eat. You can have afternoon tea every day between 4-5pm, so I may go back for that.

    I came to Besos with a few girlfriends for the evening, looking to have dessert and a cocktail. We sat at the bar where the bartender, Greg waited on us. He was very knowledgable about the wine, specials and beers on tap. He was clearly busy and handled the bar crowd very well. The Crème Brûlée was delicious and enough for us all to have a bite. I can't wait to visit when the outside bar is open. It's a beautiful atmosphere!

    I'm not really sure what a "Tea House" is, but I really enjoyed having dinner at Besos the other night. A friend suggested the place, she'd walked by it on Main Street and thought it looked promising. After reading some reviews here, I was prepared for good food and bad service. I'm happy to say that the food was delicious and I have no complaints about the service we received. We had reservations but were about 15 minutes late due to some horrific traffic on 95. No problem, we got a table in a perfect spot on the wrap around porch with a fantastic view of Main Street. My friend had tapas and I had the Salmon special. My fish was absolutely delicious with a nice crispy sear. My friend adored her tapas - I tried the mussels in a curry sauce and they were fantastic. The calamari, though, really stood out. We skipped dessert - in retrospect I'm not sure we were offered dessert, the server kind of disappeared towards the end of our meal. It didn't matter much since we were enjoying the night and when we were ready for the check it came quickly. We opted to walk a couple blocks to a chocolate shop for something sweet. I will definitely be back.

    A tea house Besos is not. A lovely lounge? Yes, it sure is. Get the whiskey sour, the chourizo-stuffed mushrooms and a spot in the lounge area - you'll not be disappointed, even when they crank the music for the over-forty set at the bar. The space is beautiful, with great lighting and a delicious-sounding menu, but the service is slow. If you're not starving and just looking to sip cocktails in EG, this is the spot for you.

    After being unable to decide on an outing (Drinks? Dinner? Dessert?), we decided on Besos for the best of all of it - tapas and dessert or perhaps a little more. When we arrived, it was pretty hopping (including a guy playing a keyboard loudly...and he was soon joined bu a vocal accompanist) and we couldn't be seated so we ordered sangria from the bar. Despite the bartender's lack of enthusiasm, it turned out to be delicious. They offer white, red and peach - go for the peach! The inside is very hip and modern, with a kind of sleek feel like you're in London. I loved the funky wood accents and the bizarre art in the bathroom. We ended up eating outside and enjoyed a lovely breeze. The waiter was very attentive and immediately took our order. The menu is HUGE and the specials list was also long. I ended up ordering the black and blue tuna app, which was yummy ($12 and came with seaweed salad) and my date got the swordfish and salmon special. We split molten lava cake for dessert but I wish we hadn't - the options included NY cheesecake and creme brulee but the lava cake was highly recommended...I thought it was a little bland. Besos is pretty pricey but the food is good and the ambiance is great! It's not really my thing but I can see how people would fall in love with it.

    OK So I've been to Beso's about a dozen times for lunch and dinner and I have Yelp'd at least three times and figured I had Yelp'd enough, but dinner at Besos tonight was so absolutely fabulous, I simply had to Yelp again and give them another five stars. Our waitress, Sarah, was lovely, competent, friendly and super efficient and nice! Our meals (I had the Seafood Stew and hubby had the very large and delicious veal chop) were off the charts good. We shared the banana bread pudding for dessert (we were too full to each get our own) and it was beyond fabulous. It was made to order so we were told it would take around ten minutes - it was well worth the ten-minute wait - can't even describe it - it was heavenly. I'll make this brief because I have reviewed this restaurant several times - but the food and service (and DECOR) was so rave-worthy, well, I just had to come back and say it again - you can't go wrong with this restaurant. It is not cheap - but it is FABULOUS. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

    I cannot review this place highly enough! My Mom hosted my bridal shower here yesterday, and though it was still serving other customers at the bar and on the patio, this was a perfect spot for it. Everyone was in awe of the menu, which catered to the various food preferences of our guests (gluten free, vegetarian, etc.). The staff was incredibly friendly at attentive, the owner was very helpful and welcoming, and all our guests were just thrilled with the food, the cocktails, the tea, and the decorations. It's got quite a unique feel - very elegant without being overdone, it's artsy without being weird. It's a perfect ladies-who-lunch atmosphere, and I plan to drag my fiance back here for brunch one day! For a bridal shower, I could imagine nothing better. The inside space was perfect for socializing and there was comfortable seating for all 24 guests, and then the wrap-around couch worked perfectly for stacking gifts and serving as a focal point for gift-unwrapping. Thank you to everyone at Besos! It was delicious and fun, and your restaurant will be a special place for my family and me for years to come!

    Went here for New Years Eve they had a pre fixe menu. My girlfriend wanted something different than what was on the NYE menu and they easily accomodated her. I had the veal chop and she had the filet, it was absolutely delicious. The drinks were on point. Overall a bit pricey but that's what you get in East Greenwich...the decor was nice and different overall we had a great experience and highly recommend it

    Was excited about the menu and atmosphere. Ordered the steak and shallot crustini tapa, smelled amazing with equally tantalizing flavors. Only problem was there was absolutely no crust to the crustini, it was served on soggy bread, a big no no in my book. We ordered a pitcher of white sangria which turned out to be the best part of our lunch. All three of us also got different salads. Mine was the champagne mango and goat cheese salad. The potential for it to be something great was there, the fact it had an entire mango diced on top of very little greens and about a 1/3 cup of dressing made it almost an intolerable proportion of ingredients. My friends Caesar salad and smoked salmon salad came with no complaints. Over all considering our bill was $70 for 3 girls with no entrees ordered we felt disappointed. The food and service didn't match the money paid or expectation.

    I've eaten here a few times but I do believe it is officially off my list. Had dinner last night there and the food was horrible. Not sure if chef changed or I just caught them on a bad night. First the description on the menu did not match what showed up at the table for myself or my wife. I order 10 oz steak and it showed up cut in strips, did not smell good and was served with boiled rice that was called Spanish rice. My wife got a chicken dish that she has ordered there before but the dish was completely different. Instead of grilled chicken with chutney she got chicken with hot onions. The decor and atmosphere are great. It was busy and loud but that's to be expected on a Saturday night. The service was OK, waitress did not question why I did not touch the entire or why I did not want to take it home. Very disappointed as we have eaten there before but last night was too much. For $100.00 to leave hungry, not good.

    Absolutely gorgeous decor. Rustic but elegant. Black wood tables with black chandeliers! Birch covered columns....so different and eclectic! It all works. Great service and wonderful food and cocktails! Did I mention the beautiful bar?

    I am not going to talk about the food in this place because we (4 people) went just for drinks on a friday night. My friend's drinks were just ok, but mine was absolutely horrendous. The service was really bad. I would say: One of the worst service experiences in East Greenwich so far. The waitress was trying to be nice and friendly, but unfortunately it does not do anything for me taking into account that I prefer less smile, and more attention to the costumers and their needs. What a big disappointment!! Kiss this place good-bye.

    The service here is beyond poor. All employees appear to be in their late teens and have no clue how to manage a busy restaurant. The food we had was very good but the attitude and ineptitude of the staff left a poor taste in my mouth. Would not return.
